Not unlike a lot of stories, I was an athlete in Highschool. I ate like crazy and stayed in relatively good shape. Started college and didn't have the skills to continue in athletics. Quickly gained weight and never looked back. First serious attempt at weight loss was two years ago. I had gotten to 350lbs. I started working out 3 times a week, cut my eating to 1200 calories a day and in less than six months was down to 270lbs. It became routine. I slept better. I took less medication for acid reflux. I had more energy.
To this day I can't figure out why I stopped. I can't look at any one thing and say that is what screwed me up. As of 6 weeks ago I was up to an alltime high of 386. I am back to working out 2-3 times a week and have dropped down to 357. I have cut my calories down to roughly 1800. I am not good with logging food ect, I simply do a rough calculation.
This blog will hopefully journal my 90 days with the P90x program. I am already getting bored with the treadmill and weights, so this should be interesting. I have read that with my weight I should not start with this program, but I like to push myself. My goal is to push myself each workout until I can't go any further. So I can only do 5 pushups right now. I will do 5 and then I will do more on my knees. I have to start somewhere. My goal is to get back to 270 from 386 in one year. My final goal is 220 on my 6'4 frame, but that is a long ways off. For know, I have stayed motivated by continuing to lose each week whether it is one pound or eight.
