Again, I love the arm workouts. I can easily push myself to my limit. Arms are sore but love the feeling.
On a seperate note, I have gained slightly this last week. I have to do better on the diet. Definately building muscled though. The part that is conncerning me is my energy. The first four weeks, I felt sore but had so much energy. All the exercise was great. Now, I'm dragging all day long. I yawn, want to fall asleep and makes it that much more difficult to force myself to workout. Still going and still pushing but my body is saying take a break (or maybe its all mental).

Sounds like you're not getting enough calories... are you keeping track with something like myfitnesspal.com? I'd be happy to take a look if you want. When I started, I was afraid of upping my intake because my weight loss stalled out so I was sure I'd start gaining. It turned out to not be true at all, instead I now have more energy and am more motivated to really bring it.
Not really using anything to track it. My goal is aroun 1500-1800 calories because thats how I always lost weight. Ignoring the past 3 days of horrible eating pizza etc. My normal day looks like this.
Breakfast - Protein Bar (I really have trouble eating breakfast, I feel nautius after eating in the morning)
Lunch - Turkey or Chicken Lunch meat, whole wheat bread, salad with olives, carrots and light italian dressing
Dinner - Usually about 800 calories of whatever my wife cooks. This could mean antyhing from chicken breasts and veggies to
hamburger helper,
Snack - Handful of almonds
Drinking 90% water with a couple glasses of iced tea and artificial sweetner during the week.
I really am not feeling hungry at all.
Thanks for the input
Well, if it's working, then by all means continue. However, if you stop losing fat at some point, I'd certainly recommend upping the cals. I think you would actually see a much faster BF reduction. In any case, you're doing fantastic so far, keep it up!
Thats the problem it didn't work last week. I will definately keep that in mind. Did you feel like you were eating beyond your hunger level? That is what makes me nervous, to continue eating when you don't feel hungry
I 'thought' I felt ok at 1800 cals, but I was just kidding myself because I didn't know any better. I upped it to 2300 and noticed an increase in energy levels and motivation, but as I said before, I simply stopped losing weight after losing 12 months on phase 1. Therefore, I took the advice of the BB staff and upped my cals to 2800 and the weight is starting to come off again. Based on your weight, you may need to go a little higher, but 2800 seems to be a good place to start.
I know exactly how you feel about it too, you're afraid that you're taking in a certain amount of calories now and not losing weight, so if you increase the cals, you will certainly gain weight... but I'm walking & talking proof that it is the opposite. If you are really hitting the workouts hard, you are burning well over 3000 cals a day. If you're taking in less than 2000, you are starving yourself. Our bodies will initially lose weight, but they WILL adjust and our metabolism will drop drastically to make up for it. Also, muscle will be consumed for energy instead of fat, which will be the last to go.
I want to encourage you to increase your calories to 2800'ish spread throughout the day in 500-700 calorie meals. Try to keep your dinner on the low end, between 500-600.
Also, try to keep your eye on processed sugars in the light dressing and foods like hamburger helper. This is very quickly stored as fat if it's not used immediately. These are bad to have in your dinner unless you do some cardio afterward to burn it up. Remember that timing is important as well as intake.
Whether or not you decide to try this approach, I really look foward to seeing your results. I'm leaving today for a cruise and will be gone for over a week, but when I get back, I'll check in on ya to see how your progress is coming along. I'll be glad to help in any way I can.
