I am on a downward spiral. I did my workouts this week, but my diet has been awful. I ate out most of the week. I even had pop. Going to try and get back on track today. I really love the resistance workouts. It beats me up and I feel sore but great the following day. I can't seem to get rid of a head cold that has made it difficult to catch my breath during the workouts. Tried over the counter stuff and just makes me groggy and feel worse. Just need to get out of this funk.

I went to the gym today and did 3 miles on the treadmill. I ran for probably close to 2 miles of that. Worked up a great sweat. The main reason for going to the gym was to cancel my membership. This really freaks me out. It almost feels like I'm giving up but P90x is working as of right now and I could use the monthly income in many other ways.
On a side note, canceling a gym membership is more high pressure than buying a car lol. I finally lied and said I was relocating for work. It worked though.
I was able to keep up really well last night with Kenpox. Still feeling my stomach muscles from Core. I am probably going to do some sort of cardio tonight instead of stretch x
So the wife returned after a long 4 days and I finally got to work out with no kids interfering and before 8pm. This seems to work best for me. She also started P90x lean. I forced her to take pictures but she refused to do her workout in front of me. So 7-8 I did Core and 8-9 she did core lol. Feeling in my abs today so I did a decent job of focusing on my core and can't believe I'm almost done with phase 2.
Another screwed up weekend. Wife is out of town again so its just me and the kids. I did Ab Ripper X Friday night after kids went to bed. Got up early Saturday and we went to the waterpark all day. Came home and spent three hours cleaning up daughters room and realized it was late. So onto Sunday.
Did legs DVD with no cooldown, then popped in Kenpox with no warm up since I just did the legs and back. Again, did all the DVD's this week but not on the correct days.
I still feel great about the fact that I'm excercising 6+ hours a week after almost 2 months.
Once again, I substituted for Yoga. I always tell myself I'm going to give it a shot but I can't take it. I know the stretching is good but I don't substitute easy stuff. I first went to my treadmill for 20minutes. Roughly 15 minutes running and 5 minutes walking. I was amazed that I was able to run for so long before stopping for a few to catch my breath. Another sign this program is working. I then did Cardio X after the treadmill.
Oh and I had a piece of my wife's birthday cake.
So after a grueling Back and Bicep workout last night it dawned on me that I was at the halfway point. I feel I have done great with the workouts and so-so with the diet. Like my 30 day pics, I find myself starting to feel anxious about the 60 day pics. I need to push hard and really shoot for some great 60 day pics.
I really pushed it on this one. Felt great. I'm getting ahead of myself since I don't "officially" way myself until Monday mornings but I am shredding some pounds this week so far. Just need to keep it up.
My arms are dead today. Great workout last night even though it was late. I had also lifted with a couple guys at work today. They simply do a few sets of bench press but they wanted to see what p90x was capable of. Before P90x I was able to do three sets of 135 (sets of 10), after warming up with 135 I did the following sets of 225 (5, 4, 3). They were impressed that I could lift that much from 40 days of push ups and resistance training.
I had a few people email me and ask so I thought I would post. I was able to lose 1.6lbs during my "vacation week". I mixed it up with the cardio and kenpo dvd's. I watched my diet except for one dinner at the Cheesecake factory. Back to week 7 today.
I did the Cardio X Dvd today. Tomorrow is back to work and start of week 7.
Didn't get a P90x workout in today. We got up and met my brother and his kids down at Kings Island for the day. Turned into an all day thing and got home around 11:30pm. Legs were dead tired and a lot of walking so that was good. I will do either Kenpo or Cardio tomorrow and then back to week 7. Looking forward to resistance again.
On a depressing note... nothing like being humilated in front of your brother, brother's girlfriend and about 30 other people as you are unable to fit on the new Diamondback rollercoaster to give you motivation. Not sure why I tried, figured as much but was excited about losing 40lbs and I used to love roller coasters. I haven't been on one in at least 5 years now :(
I managed to do cardio x this morning, but that was it. Oh, besides a little running up and down the sidewalk teaching daughter to ride a bike lol. That was pretty intense as well for my frame.
I did Kenpo X and another 1.5 hours of yard work today. Got my first compliment from the wife last night since starting P90x. Wasn't what I expected but I'll take it. She said my shoulders are looking good lol. Who knew my shoulders were one of my better features lol.
Going to try and get the house cleaned tomorrow and do at least one video, possibly two.
No, there aren't any vacation weeks in P90x, however any normal person is going to be unable to committ for 90 straight days. My family and I got back in town late last night. I managed about 2 hours of yard work and cardio x today. I plan on Kenpo and Cardio X tomorrow. I will do at least one cardio dvd a day and possibly two until Sunday. I will take a rest day Sunday and begin Week 7 on Monday. That is my plan, hope I'm not discouraging anyone following along.
So I pushed myself to do both Legs and Back and Kenpo X tonight. We are leaving for 4 days early tomorrow. Didn't want to take a chance on forcing myself to get up early lol. I will however do Ab Ripper X in the morning.
I'm still debating on how to handle next week but I'm really not that worried about it. In the past I would stress out that I would get off track but I look forward to getting back and pushing myself. I love the changes I'm going through (yes even though I'm not losing weight at a breakneck pace)
Be back on Wednesday
Ok so I substituted but I got a hell of a workout. I completed cardio x plus 22 minutes on the treadmill. Treadmill was running until I couldn't go any further, then walking for a minute, then running again, etc.
Ok so family and I leaving for vacation on Saturday and returning tuesday. I am waking up early saturday for KenpoX and my wife graciously taking the first leg of driving. So week 6 will be completed, I need to figure out how to handle week 7. Here is what I'm debating. Doing an assortment of Cardio X, Kenpo X and Plyo Wed, Thur, Fri, Sat and starting week 7 the following week. Or trying to catch up workouts which may be difficult with my schedule. The way I see it, I have a long way to go and one week of cardio in the middle can't hurt me right?
Any thoughts?
Another great workout tonight. As previously stated, I love the arm workouts. Wife came and joined me for the ab ripper x which kicks her butt as well, but she is able to do most of them.
I finally got my pictures edited. Again, I see some changes but nothing super drastic. For those of you looking to do P90x, don't let the pictures confuse you. I have dropped inches, some pounds and three belt notches since starting. I see most the changes in my face (though its blurred out), legs and shoulders/chest. Let me know what you think, don't hesitate to comment or email me.
Fair warning, just like Plyo, I don't recommend eating before viewing these pics lol (You've been warned)
I pushed hard and really got a great workout last night. Pouring sweat and sore today. Still have trouble with my weight with the knee tucks and rock stars. I can't get my feet that high in the air but I do what I can.
On a positive note, I've talked my brother into giving the P90x workouts a shot.
Again, I love the arm workouts. I can easily push myself to my limit. Arms are sore but love the feeling.
On a seperate note, I have gained slightly this last week. I have to do better on the diet. Definately building muscled though. The part that is conncerning me is my energy. The first four weeks, I felt sore but had so much energy. All the exercise was great. Now, I'm dragging all day long. I yawn, want to fall asleep and makes it that much more difficult to force myself to workout. Still going and still pushing but my body is saying take a break (or maybe its all mental).
So I got home from work last night around 11:30pm. Finished all my paperwork for month end at work at didn't have the energy to work out. Also heading out of town until late Sunday night. So I got up early Saturday to do Legs and Back, Ab Ripper X and Kenpo. I feel good that I got both workouts in for the week but by the time Kenpo rolled around I was out of gas. I pushed through it but still felt I could have done better.
Now enough of eating out, I have to get the diet back on track. Still counting calories but not the best foods.
